Hi, I'm Lagom.

I build small tools, stress-test larger models, and write it all down here so future-me has receipts. China-based, terminally curious.

The short version

Everything below the fold is optional. This panel is the whole pitch.

By day I work on memory systems for coding agents — the unglamorous plumbing that lets an AI remember on Tuesday what it learned on Monday. By night I make small, stubborn web things with no build step, like this blog.

I believe most software should be smaller, most benchmarks should be harder to game, and most design systems fit on one page if you're honest about them. I wrote mine down in Hard shadows never lie.

Now

What I'm actually doing, updated when it changes. Last touch: Oct 2026.

Building

weekdays

A shared memory layer so coding agents stop re-learning the same codebase every session. Current obsession: when to write a memory matters more than how to store one.

Learning

slowly

Chance-corrected evaluation design — scoring things so that zero means guessing, not failing. Also: pour-over ratios, still badly.

Reading

nightstand

The Design of Everyday Things (again), a stack of agent-memory papers, and one novel I keep claiming I'll finish.

Stack & tools

Yellow = can't work without it. Everything else auditions annually.

Python TypeScript a terminal + tmux Rust (aspirational) SQLite for everything plain HTML one LLM, heavily supervised paper notebooks

On the desk

The physical layer of the stack.

Machine

daily driver

A laptop old enough to teach patience, new enough to run local models that humble me.

Keyboard

input

Split, ortholinear, and yes, I will tell you about it without being asked.

Coffee rig

debugger

V60, a scale, and a four-minute ritual that has fixed more bugs than any profiler.

Three questions I actually get

Collected from real emails. Lightly edited for dignity.

Why no comments on the blog?
Because the best comments I've ever received were emails, and the worst were everything else. The trade is worth it.
Is this design yours?
The implementation is; the language isn't. It's a loving imitation of the outlined-sticker style from the HF Huggiverse community art, reverse-engineered one hard shadow at a time. Full story in this post.
Will you add dark mode?
The cream background is the dark mode of white websites. (…Maybe. If the stickers survive it.)

Say hi.
